# Market Types TxFlow lists prediction markets with two outcome structures: **binary** (two outcomes) and **category** (several outcomes, one winner). ## Binary markets Two outcomes, **YES** or **NO**: > Will BTC be above $100,000 at 08:00 UTC on September 30? Buy YES if you think the condition will be met, NO if you think it will not. At resolution one side settles at $1 and the other at $0. ### Crypto up / down markets Some crypto markets ask whether an asset finishes above or below a reference price. The reference price, observation time, price source, and resolution conditions are all shown in that market's **Resolution Rules** — read them before trading, since they differ per market. ## Category markets Several possible outcomes, exactly one of which wins: > Which team will win the tournament? | Outcome | YES price | |---|---| | Team A | $0.40 | | Team B | $0.30 | | Team C | $0.20 | | Team D | $0.10 | YES prices across all outcomes sum to roughly $1 because only one can win. If Team A wins, Team A YES settles at $1 and every other YES settles at $0. ### Trading a single outcome Each outcome in a category market can be traded from either side: - **Buy YES on Team A** — you win if Team A is the winning outcome. - **Buy NO on Team A** — you win if *any* other valid outcome wins. ## Categories TxFlow may list markets across crypto, sports, and other event categories. The available set changes over time. Evaluate each market on its own [Resolution Rules](/prediction/resolution-and-settlement.md) rather than on its category.
