FAQ
Overview
What is a builder code?A builder code attributes orders to your platform, so you earn builder fees on each eligible fill.
Who can become a builder?Trading terminals, wallets, aggregators, bots, Telegram apps, AI agents and other platforms routing orders through TxFlow can apply.
How do I get started?Submit an application, complete your testnet integration, and obtain mainnet approval and whitelisting. Once verified, you can go live. See Getting Started.
Fees & earnings
How much can I charge?Up to the user's approved rate and the market cap: 0.1% on perpetuals, 1% on spot and 1% on prediction markets. If either limit is exceeded, the order still fills, but no builder fee is charged.
Why don't I earn on spot buys? The spot builder fee is one-sided: it is charged only on sell fills, in USDC, out of the quote the user receives. Buy orders can carry your builder object and fill normally, but no builder fee is charged on them. See Spot: sell fills only.
Do users pay additional fees?Yes. Builder fees are charged on top of TxFlow trading fees. Users bound to your referral code receive a 5% discount on TxFlow trading fees.
When and how can I claim my earnings?Builder fees accrue on-chain with each fill. Claim your available balance at any time with claimBuilderRewards, free of charge. Claimed funds are credited to your Perps account and can then be withdrawn.
Yes. Builder fees are separate from TxFlow commissions. Each fill generates only one TxFlow commission, either referral or affiliate, while your builder fee is earned in addition.
What happens if a user has not approved my builder fee?The order can still fill, but no builder fee is charged. Make sure the user's approval is in place before routing orders — you can check it with maxBuilderFee.
Integration & authorization
How long does integration take? Most teams go live within 1–2 weeks, depending on integration scope and testing.
Which programming languages and environments are supported?Any language that can sign EIP-712 messages. TxFlow provides REST and WebSocket APIs with no API keys required. Testnet and mainnet APIs are aligned, so you can test before going live.
What must users authorize?Users approve the builder fee and sign a trading authorization. Before they sign, your interface must clearly display your app name, builder address, maximum fee rate, trading permissions and authorization duration.
Can I change my builder fee rate?Yes, within the user's approved rate and the market cap. Raising the approved rate or changing other authorization parameters requires the user to sign a new approval.
Risk & compliance
Are all trades eligible for builder fees and rewards? No. Liquidation and ADL fills are not eligible for builder fees. Volume flagged by risk controls is excluded from points and other applicable rewards.
Can I route trades from my own wallets?Self-trading, self-matched trades and volume generated through your own or linked wallets do not qualify for commissions, points or tier credit.
What happens if my builder address is flagged?TxFlow monitors builder activity and may restrict addresses that show abnormal behavior. Contact your BD representative if you suspect an issue.
